We help you grow food, and make your yard look great at the same time.
Do you recognize the need for local food production? You can’t get more local than growing it in your own yard. It is possible to grow an enormous amount of food on your land, even if that is just a fraction of an acre in the city. It’s also possible to do so in a beautiful way that is also low maintenance. The secret is to use perennial, food producing plants.
Fruits, nuts, herbs, berries, and leafy greens can all be supplied to your kitchen, from your landscape! The amount of production you get can be very high (see 414 Production Notes). All it takes is to PLANT IT! Your yard will look great and produce food. After that, with time, the trees and plants become more low-mainteance, and grow and produce more and more, year after year.
Rainwater is such an amazing resource when used in a way that benefits your yard and plants. You can store it in barrels, cisterns or earthworks, in the ground itself, at great benefit to plants and landscape, as well as reducing runoff and erosion, which has al kinds of systemic benefits for the hydrological cycle as a whole.
